Module 13 – Rooted
AT THIS POINT, YOU SHOULD…
You should be able to go through the entire form focusing on one principle at a time: columns, rotation and balance. Don’t try to start combining the principles just yet.
WHAT YOU WILL NOW LEARN:
The next principle is about being rooted and deep in your stances. The focus is being stable and balanced. You will learn how to teach this principle so that your students can safely incorporate this idea into each move in the form. You want each of your students to remain pain free, so allow them to modify as needed particularly with deepening their stances.
ACTION PLAN:
Watch the entire video once all the way through. Then as you watch it again, stop the video and practice each move as it is presented. Then go through the form several times focusing on how the principle of being rooted is important to each move.
You should also study each of the three class plans for being rooted and practice teaching deepness of stances as it is presented in each plan. The class plans break the concept down so you only focus on a few of the ideas at a time and you don’t overwhelm your students.
